Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 8, 2026
Your writing stays in your browser. This page explains what that means, what happens when you visit the site, and what you can control.
1. Your writing and settings
WriteMind does not require an account. Document titles, text, imported images, personal dictionary words, and preferences are saved in browser storage on your device. Images added through the editor are processed on your device and stored with the document. Writing coach checks run locally.
The editor does not upload your drafts to a cloud document or AI service. There is no automatic sync across devices, browsers, or different site addresses. Browser extensions, third-party keyboards, and operating-system services you enable may handle text under their own policies.
2. Browser storage and cookies
WriteMind uses local storage to remember your library and settings. A service worker and browser cache keep app files and bundled sounds available offline after setup. These are functional storage features, not advertising profiles.
The current app does not include advertising pixels, analytics scripts, or application-set tracking cookies. The hosting provider may process technical information to deliver and secure the site.
3. Hosting and technical information
WriteMind is hosted on Vercel. Visiting the site sends ordinary web-request information to the host, which may include your IP address, browser information, requested URL, and request time. Vercel processes technical information to operate and secure its infrastructure. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice for its practices.
These requests deliver the app; the editor does not include your draft text or document titles in them. Hosting records have separate retention practices from the drafts stored in your browser.
4. Backups, retention, and deletion
Your local library remains until you remove it, browser storage is cleared or evicted, or the browser discards it. Private browsing may discard data when the session ends. Autosave and offline storage are not a backup service.
Use Library → Backup to download a copy, or export one document from Document tools. Backups and exports are ordinary, unencrypted files; keep them somewhere you trust. Restore replaces the destination library.
You can delete documents in the app. To remove all app data, close WriteMind and clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Remove downloaded backups separately. We cannot recover drafts that exist only in your browser.
6. Your privacy questions
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information handled about you, object to or restrict certain processing, or complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us about information you have shared directly. For drafts, use the local export and deletion controls above; we do not hold a server copy.
WriteMind is a general writing tool and is not designed to collect children’s personal information. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us directly, contact us so we can address it.
7. Changes to this page
We will update this notice when the app’s data practices change and revise the date below the title. Material changes will be explained in the app where appropriate.
