Terms of Use
Last updated: September 8, 2026
WriteMind gives you a quiet place to write. These terms explain the responsibilities that come with using it.
1. Using WriteMind
These terms apply to the WriteMind website and installed web app. Please read them along with the Privacy Policy. By using WriteMind, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the app. You must be able to agree to these terms under the laws that apply to you, or have the permission of a parent or guardian where required.
2. Your words remain yours
You keep your rights to the text, images, and other content you bring to WriteMind. Using the app does not transfer ownership of your writing to us or grant us a right to publish it. You are responsible for having permission to use content you add or share.
WriteMind’s name, logo, interface, and bundled materials may be protected by intellectual-property rights. You may use the app as provided. A downloadable logo is available to identify or refer to WriteMind; do not imply an endorsement or present it as your own brand. Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses.
3. Keep a copy of important work
Drafts are stored in the browser and site address where you write them. WriteMind does not provide cloud backup, account recovery, or automatic cross-device sync. Clearing site data, private browsing, storage limits, browser changes, or device failure can remove drafts.
Use Library → Backup regularly. Check your downloaded copy before moving devices or clearing data. Restore replaces the destination library. You are responsible for keeping copies of work you need.
4. Coaching is a suggestion
Readability grades and grammar checks are automated estimates. They may miss issues or flag correct writing. They do not verify facts, meaning, originality, or whether an idea is sound. Review each suggestion and any resulting change before using or publishing your work. WriteMind does not provide professional legal, medical, financial, or other specialist advice.
5. Responsible use
Use WriteMind lawfully. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, compromise its security, gain unauthorized access to systems or data, or use it to infringe others’ rights. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or comply with legal obligations.
6. Availability and changes
Features may change, and the site may be unavailable for maintenance or other reasons. Offline use depends on successful initial setup and your browser retaining the app files. We do not promise uninterrupted access, permanent availability, or compatibility with every device.
We may update these terms as the service changes. The updated date identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated in the app where appropriate. You can stop using WriteMind at any time.
7. Service limitations and your rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, WriteMind is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free operation. To that same extent, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights or remedies. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent allowed by law.
8. Other sites and credits
Links may lead to services we do not operate. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. Mechanical keyboard recordings are credited to Thomas Lai and distributed under the accompanying MIT license. Read the recording credits and license.
